Is NPM over? Evidence from New Zealand

BeehiveIn the current issue of Governance, Martin Lodge and Derek Gill examine the supposed shift from New Public Management to a new era of “post-NPM” by looking at one critical case, New Zealand.  “A number of studies on New Zealand have suggested a move away from NPM,” Lodge and Gill write.  The reality is more complex.  “NPM was never as purely implemented as the literature has led us to believe,” they conclude, “and post-NPM’s day is yet (if ever) to come.” Open access to the article.
